Jim Hsieh - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
43 years of experience in the semiconductor laser industry. Founder and President of Lasertron, Inc. from 1980 to 1995. Recipient of IEEE's 1992 David Sarnoff Award for the invention and commercialization of the GaInAsP semiconductor laser for fiber-optic communications. Founder and former Vice Chairman of the Board of Wuhan Telecommunication Devices Company (WTD), a joint venture with the Ministry of the Posts and Telecommunications in China. Ph.D. in Material Science from the University of Southern California. Recipient of five patents and author of countless technical papers. Founder and Director of Asian American Bank.
Dr. Wei Gao - Founder
19 years of industry experience. Designed and constructed Axcel's built fabrication facility. Extensive hands-on experience with epitaxial crystal growth, device design/fabrication, testing and reliability. In depth knowledge on components, packaging, and systems. Work experience at Lasertron, Multiplex, and Nortel Networks. Ph.D.in Electrical Engineering from Delaware University Former faculty member at Peking University in Physics Department. Author of more than 20 technical papers and recipient
